Rosie the dragon got her groove back this year in a complete overhaul design. Sitting in her favourite spot on the festival grounds overlooking the field and the adjacent lake, she was a real showstopper at this year’s edition moving to the beat of the resident DJ’s.

Training the dragon

Conceptualised by the Tomorrowland team, built and implemented by Fisheye, Rosie has been a technical masterpiece from the start (even back in 2018). The movements of her eyes, mouth, gills and head are harmonised and controlled by our custom, inhouse software. Her whole body is an exceptional combination of steel, technology and décor.

This year, besides a new look, we integrated a new set of special effects, created with Divi-Divi, that made her even more beautiful at night, when she put on a light and fire show for the partying crowd.

Creating Rosie 2.0 was like seeing your baby come to life. The whole team was heavily involved in this project and pulled together an enormous effort to make her even more spectacular this year.
