Forget about musical chairs, here come the musical swings. Samsung’s latest activation ‘Magic Swings’ during ‘Winter Wonders’ in Brussels is a feast for your eyes and ears.

Unique melodies

Three life-size versions of the newest foldable Samsung smartphone Galaxy Z Flip4 are connected by a set of three musical swings. Each swing makes a unique sound and each movement influences both sound and light. Together passers-by create a unique melody.

This assignment was right up our alley. All of our multidisciplinary teams were involved to create an unforgettable experience, from light, sound, interactivity to graphic and technical design and execution.

High-tech installation

The life-size smartphones measure 4 meters in height, 4 meters in depth and 21 meters in width. It’s safe to say they needed to be transported on a dedicated flatbed trailer to reach their destination. Not only was their size a special feature, we needed to produce an outdoor installation which could withstand icy winter temperatures. The inside of each phone is fitted with a backlit light box covered with a plexi print, lighting up the installation at night.
