Nike on Air: transporting the iconic shoes for the 2024 Olympic Games
Blue Revolver Inc.
Nike launched their products for the Summer Olympic Games at an exhibition held in Paris's Palais Brongniart in April. Blue Revolver Inc. called on us to produce an eye-catching assembly line for this once-in-a-lifetime project.
The immersive exhibition, which was led by More to Show, started with a look back on Air’s history, titled the ‘Genealogy of Air’. In this room, we produced a custom 12 metre by 3 metre conveyor belt designed by Blue Revolver Inc. The belt carried 30 Nike Air shoes – both vintage models and the newest pairs which will be worn by the athletes at the Olympic Games.
Working from Blue Revolver Inc.’s concept drawings, our engineers got to work and meticulously designed the conveyor belt with a custom integrated gear. This gear sprocket moved a chain of metal carts along a rail on the inside of the conveyor belt. Metal plates topped with oval-shaped orange plexi served as the bases upon which the exclusive shoes were mounted.
All of the steel welding, woodwork and coating was done by our in-house team, including a test build in our workshop. This ensured a smooth build on site. In less than a month’s time, thanks to the close collaboration between our engineering and production teams, we were able to engineer and successfully build this shoe assembly line – one that even Henry Ford might be proud of.
