Club Wintercircus

The Club Wintercircus, set in the innovation and tech hub Wintercircus in Ghent, already offers music lovers a one-of-a-kind sound experience. But the experience only becomes truly immersive when you are surrounded by images as well as sound. And that's where the circular shape of the room comes in handy. We created an ingenious system with motorised projection screens around the room and a cluster of projectors in the centre, completely immersing the audience with 360 video projection.

Endless canvas opportunities

Dynamic projection surfaces cover the wall of the club. They are divided into many small rollable projection surfaces that together form a circle. This creates an extremely flexible setup in which parts of the projection surfaces can be manipulated separately. The motor control of the projection surfaces is carried out from the playout server. The central playout server can blend, map and warp all content to match the circular projection. Or in other words, concertgoers experience a 360 sound and video show.

This project was one where our technical team excelled and had fun at the same time, playing around with the latest technologies in projection and motor controls.

What’s more, we also integrated a big curved LED screen at the back of the music stage that can be switched on for live music performances, combining live visuals with live music in a complete immersive experience.
