Luxury capsules of fun

Aimko / More To Show

It’s not every day that an opportunity to work for an iconic fashion brand comes along. And it’s not every day that you’re asked to engineer a giant vending machine. So when these two things came together, we immediately said ‘Oui!’.

LV x M Soho Pop Up Courtesy of Louis Vuitton Photographer Brad Dickson 5

To celebrate the re-edition collection of Louis Vuitton x Murakami, the brand created an array of new pop-up stores worldwide that reflected the vibrant and playful aesthetics of the Japanese artist. Each store had a special capsule toy machine, where shoppers could win exclusive collectible gifts linked to the collection by inserting a limited edition coin.

Worldwide delivery

Working closely with More to Show and AIMKO, responsible for concept, design and production, our engineers translated the functional requests into a working prototype machine. Our engineers also made sure the vending machines were dummy proof as they needed to be shipped across the world and installed by an on-site team. Each machine could hold 900 plastic balls with gifts inside.

Custom lighting

The six machines were made with the utmost attention to detail and finishing by the workshop team. The LV logo was added to the wall of the machine with custom LED light giving it a subtle glow. The front side of the machine had a programmed LED light sequence which started each time a shopper inserted a coin, building up suspense before a ball rolled out.
