Holiday On Ice - Supernova
Holiday On Ice
As the most successful iceshow in the world, Holiday On Ice has been touring the globe with multiple productions since its premiere in 1943 in Ohio, USA. For the current project Supernova, Fisheye was commissioned to create multiple stage scenery items.
For starters we created a multifunctional, custom steel frame which was used to mount multiple LED screens as a giant stage background. To complete this setting we created another modular steel frame ceiling with integrated LED lighting.
Tube laser & scenery
All of the items above were produced with our state of the art industrial tube laser. Highlight of our production process however was the radio controlled moving platform we completely designed and produced in house. A motorised steel platform which enabled the show directors to move stage scenery items, weighing up to 2 tons, at a speed of 5km/hour on the ice itself.
One of the biggest challenges in this project was not only producing all items, but making sure they were modular enough to easily be transported towards show venues across Europe. Our team of designers mastered this issue by creating a sophisticated yet simple puzzling system with the help of the tube laser.
