All hail King Wini
Studio 100
As part of the makeover of Wijnegem Shopping Center, Studio 100 designed five new mascots — the Wini’s — to live alongside the centre’s refreshed branding. The aim was to create a fun, magical experience that would captivate families and children while turning the shopping centre into a destination in itself.
Bubbles of joy
Working from Studio 100’s drawings, we brought this world to life through a striking, large-scale installation inspired by soap bubbles and playfulness. At the heart of the concept is a monumental bubble mobile, suspended 12 meters high from a fixed frame — a feat that required expert rigging and precision installation by our team.
Creating a new icon
Each translucent bubble contains custom-programmed LED lighting, carefully tuned to match the unique colour palette of each Wini mascot. Extensive research went into developing a mother-of-pearl coating for the plexi bubbles, giving them an iridescent, floating quality that shifts with light and movement.
The centrepiece of the installation is a giant bubble wand, inside which sits King Wini. The character was 3D printed, flocked, and hand-painted, with rich tactile finishes that elevate him from mascot to sculptural icon. His wand flickers, his eyes light up, and he rests inside an opaque bubble that dramatically opens to reveal him — adding a moment of surprise and delight for visitors.
