A whale of a job
Greenpeace
Greenpeace approached us to design, engineer and produce a life-size blue whale to increase awareness about the protection of the ocean. Measuring 6 metres in length and 2 metres in height, the friendly whale catches the attention of passersby at the Belgian seaside.
The ocean's voice
The whale, who was given the name Walter, needed to attract people from a distance by its size and colour, but also needed to tell the story about the ocean and threats to its environment. Two speakers were built into both sides of the whale with a Dutch and French playout button. Visitors can lay their ear on Walter’s stomach to get up close and listen to his story.
