Europa-Park celebrated their 50th anniversary year with a whole range of new features. Every day a parade runs through the park, celebrating the diversity of European countries. The parade includes floats, dancers, actors and mascots. But no birthday is complete without a little something extra right?
Special occasion
To mark this jubilee season, Europa-Park came to us to engineer and produce two new floats, in a French and German theme. Working with Europa-Park’s chief designer, we took their creative input and drawings and got to work. Our engineers took into account motion, scenography and durability. The floats run every day the whole year round so they needed to be sturdy, but light at the same time and meet the safety requirements. That’s a puzzle we like to solve!
Different materials and techniques were used in the floats that replicate the famous façades linked to each theme. A combination of CNC work, 3D prints and carving brought these architectural highlights to life. Our painters went to great lengths to recreate the details of buildings, which gives each float a truly unique and real character.
A feast for your eyes
Besides moving parts, special effects were also added to the floats, including a smoky bubble machine. Our technical team integrated custom LED lights in each float turning them into real eye-catchers for the daily spectators.
