Elixir, Tomorrowland’s magical potion of love

Tomorrowland

This year we were honoured yet again to produce two new stages for Tomorrowland’s 17th edition in Belgium. Our collaboration with the iconic festival is a longstanding one, where we previously built not only the Freedom Stage, the Kara Savi Stage, the Merchandise shop and Infopoint but also the world famous Rose Garden.

This summer, the Elixir stage and the (renewed) Rose Garden enhanced the festival’s mythical theme even more.

Towering height

Built on the edge of the water, the Elixir stage lures you in from a distance with an impressive height of 21 metres. A theatrical giant lily of 5 metres adorns the stage’s décor. Towering above the DJ is a chandelier with tailored LED lighting inside. And for a little bit of fun, a set of swings hangs from the side of the stage.

Our engineering team not only looked at creating a solid foundation for the steel structure of the stage, but also took care of the detailed finishing touches. A combination of our machinery was used to bring the stage to life, from our new hot foil CNC machine to our Massivit 3D printer.

I really enjoyed seeing the Elixir come to life – from the start of the engineering phase, to pieces of assembly here in our production hall, to it being built bit by bit on site. The end-result is one for the books!

Flying tower

The on-site installation was quite spectacular to see. The steel frames were flown in by crane from the other side of the lake to fit into each other like pieces of a puzzle. Our on-site crew went to great lengths and built the stage in 4 days.
